Happy 5oth, Malaysia!

Malaysia's already 50 years old.Tunku
Wow *pats it fondly on its back*
I saw the pretty fireworks at my parent's balcony and saw the morning parade on TV the next day.
It was pretty ne~
I also saw the huuuge picture of Tunku Abdul Rahman.
And I wonder.
I wonder what he felt like when he laungkan the words 'Merdeka' not once, but 7 times.
I wonder what he felt when he saw an enourmous crowd gathering and chering as he said that.
I wonder what he'll feel if he saw Malaysia today.
I wonder what he'll feel if he saw the Menara KL and the Twin Towers.
I wonder what he'll feel like if he knew that we still live in peace (well, sort of, we  can forget about the crimes part for now) despite our growing, multi-racial community.
I wonder what he'll feel if he knew thousands of Malaysian students are given scholarship to study abroad.
I wonder what he'll feel if he was told about the rising numbers of theft, rape,  bullies and corruption.
I wonder what he'll feel like if he played the song 'Negaraku' in public and everybody just blinked.

I wonder what he'll say if he found out that we managed to preserve our  independence yet the morality of our generation is questionable.
I wonder.

Just my personal thoughts. No offense to anyone.

My Weekend in Sarawak

It was immensely tiring and  unbelievably crappy for the reasons below:
1. The flight going there was delayed.
2. While waiting, we ate McDonalds and the special sauces for the nuggets were finished.
3. The plane smelled like Ikan Masin Terubuk.
4. We were forced to make breakfast with insufficient ingredients
5. We had to run one place to another either cutting up cakes/fruits, pack up goody bags, carry the furniture outside, and so on.
6. Absolute no-no for afternoon naps
7. I had to wear my baju kurung that was straining at my expanding hips
8. Washing! All the cutleries and pots!
9. Waking up at 5.45am and staying up as by 6am it's already bright and shinny.
10. Forgotten to bring Yassin to kubur
11. Had to endure a massive war at the buffet table which resulted to a ruined baju kurung
12. Being forced to bring back loads of Kueh Cincin which I clearly remember tons of it at home
13. Flight going home was delayed for another hour.
14. The food cart in the plane went backwards so no chance of getting the nasi lemak
15. Sesat during out trip home. We reached at 12am

Although this whole list sounds really horrible, I had a great time catching up with Aina, Zilah and Afiq.
Not to mention I was extremely impressed by the super-human powers of Uncle Salim and Mak Sal and those who helped by making traditional kueh
And I am grateful for all the kind words/ praises and the delightful trip to the ice-cream parlor.
Oh, and of course, seeing Nenek again :)
All in all, it was a nice weekend.

Taking care is an enormous responsibility

Yesterday, my brother got lost in a mall.
The huge Ikano Power Centre.
There I was, looking and picking through thousands of stationaries in Popular...
...when suddenly that little brat gone MIA.
It turns out, he went down the elevator and someone who is superbly kind bought him to the information counter.
Of course, we were totally oblivious of it. We were in fact, running around Popular with our panic faces screaming his name. Thoughts of kidnappers, molesters and pedophiles run wildly in my mind. (God, I have to stop watching Criminal Minds)
When my sister found him, he was playing with a toy car.
I was so pissed off, I vowed to ignore him for a week.
My sister, on the other hand, had already forgiven him. Bless her, she only cared that we found him in one piece.
So, late last night, when I had to brush his teeth I was as silent as a tomb.
Yazmin: Sampai bile you nak ignore dia?
And I just 'jeling' at her and walk straight ahead  with my head held up high.
A second later, I bang  against the wall and nearly fell.
This was superbly uncool for someone feeling so righteous so all three of us, including my bratty brother, laughed.
All anger, tension and frustration ebbed away.

He is in one piece, after all.

Gosh, God do work in a funny way ne?

Non efficient way to spend an afternoon

When you're being forced to do something- you'll definitely hate it.
Especially if you can't see what good it will bring if you do it.
It's the same with having something you really like... reachable. Always there. Always yielding. You can't enjoy it.
The other day, I was finally banned from my laptop. So, I did the next best thing.
ZzZzZzZZz
Aha, actually, I read a book. Then fell asleep. And since I have nothing else to do... I slept the whole day. Boy, did I have a headache after that.
You know, the pounding kind that drives you nuts.
Gosh, I wonder how Nino can sleep 23 hours straight.
Nino_sleep
Or how some people can do things without even feeling remotely guilty for crushing other people's feelings.

This is an angst-y post. Bear with me.

Morty-chan

10 things about my cat:
Img_1156
1. His name is Voldemort. Yes, he is as evil.
2. He is currently banned from entering the house as he pooped on a very expensive and posh looking carpet yesterday.
3. He has really mean, piercing, yellow eyes which translate to 'Get The Hell Outta My Way'
4. He thinks he is human and prefer the queen sized bed, complete with air-conned room.
5. He loves only one person in the house and that's my sister, Mynn. He'll only sit on her tummy and if you graciously offer yours, he'll look at you with a look on his face that says "Whaat? Your tummy???". This one look can make you feel like the loneliest person for one hour.
6. I once brought him to a pet store for a complete bath and groom which cost RM80. He thanked my by getting in his cage and deliberately gave me his buttocks to look at.
7. When we bathe him at home, he'll moan like people are pouring hot water on him and sheathe his claws until we can hang him on the gate just by using those claws.
8. He'll demand upper level toilet water in the gayung and pee on the floor mat in front of the toilet.
9. When a stray cat comes into the house and  meows and him, he'll look at the cat and then look at me which translate to: "Why bring in this dirty creature?"
10. He likes to sleep under a pile of clothes with his eyes shut so tightly and his tail wrapped around him so delicately that you'll want to shout "Morty!" so that he'll wake up. But he'll wake up with such a jump until you feel extremely guilty for snatching him away from his fishy dreams.

Oof, additional info:

When he's really pissed off, he'll enter his cage, pull his cage-door with his paw and sit in there like a so-called prisoner. He'll also stare at you like it is completely your fault he is trapped in his little cage.

Giving the Rat a Chance

Ratatouille2
I read in the papers that if Ratatouille is a plate of Char Kuey Teow, it'd be filled with huge, fresh udang and blended with the correct amount of sambal to give you the perfect blend of spiciness and richness of Malaysia.
Hahah. That might be overstretching it. Don't blame me, the preview really got my mouth watering.
I watched and sure, it's definitely the Char Kuey Teow.
The animation was amazing: the scenery looked real, the rats look real and the food sure looked real *yumyumyum
Since I'm not big fan of rodents, my expectations for this movie was kinda low. And, yeah, by the end of the show, I was amazed by it.
Remy, the rat was able to swoon my heart into liking cute, big nosed, nodding rats.
And that's saying something.
Because at the beginning of the movie, they show the whole colony of rats with their bald, pink tails...
....Gosh, GELI!

Graduation Day, IB, 2005-2007

I've graduated *sing-song wayGraduation_003
I officially have an IB diploma ne.
Yesterday was great. The food was great, people were smiling like crazy and I did not stumble at the steps :) Yokatta ne~
Meeting up friends and hearing them compliment my baju kurung moden.
Though most of them said "Sarah, this is so unlike you!"
Nandayo~ Was I dressed in drags in KMB??

I gave teachers gifts and personal cards. Which I finished writing the night before. Demo ne, I don't think the teachers can read them.

I upload the pictures this morning and went through them like a hawk. Grinning people greeted me. Aisey, my only regret is that my tudung made my head look a bit 'telur-ish' :(

What really caught me off guard what the fact that everyone is going already.Graduation_019
I mean, MakWan, Mas and Mar going this Tuesday.
Azizi and all the other JPA-Ireland bound students are going one or two weeks time?
Oh, and someone is going off this coming Sunday.
Chotto~ I have to send you guys off with my 'kata-kata nasihat'
Demo ne,
Can someone please give me a ride to KLIA?

Pooping

Good Morning Dear People,
For those at work (haha, Mynn) Ganbatte ne?
It's a bright and sunny morning, where you can hear the birds singing and you can see the cats standing on its hind legs to catch the singing words.
I have absolutely no responsibilities today
Life is good.
Just as I am about to smile at my luck...
...my little brother go "POOPING"

*sighNino_n_ohno
Check out the pic, it's Ohmiya SK (Kawaii ne?) For more information on their gorgeous faces, check out my comment by Arome.
Again, Kawaii desu?
Well, in this pic, Nino is grabbing Ohno for dear life. Because a boy went up to him shouting "Poop"

Wish I could grab someone for dear life now.

Adding a whole load of pounds

Before Do you guys like cow? *cough. I mean meat... You know those medium well, glazed with  BBQ sauce kind of meat?
My parents brought the whole family for Meat Eating Dinner to a fancy restaurant for my  sis's bday.
God, it was alot of meat.
I actually felt my waistline expanding.
Not like it hasn't expended. Since I've been doing nothing at home... I've definitely grown fatter.
Even my cheeks are like 2kg each?
*curse those skinny people with high metabolism rate
My sister is blessed with a thin, nicely structured face. Although she's fatter than me *lallalalalallala
I mean, if we were all sitting at a table and someone comes over...
...they'd go:
"Yazmin, you look thin. Have you been working out"
whereas to me, they'd say:
"SARAH! I think you're allergic to something, your cheeks are blowing up!"

hahaha *rich with sarcasm

Love is weird

I'm in love.Jun_headphone
To a guy named Jun.
He's adorable, hot and stylish.
Oh, and he's also a Japanese pop idol
*Sigh
Yes, I am confusing between fantasy and reality. Spare me all the lectures and let me fall in love.
It's better than having a real guy around that brags, whines and confuses you with his ex.
Ne?
Love is weird.
Cause with Jun, all I need is a smile.
Cheesy, huh?
Who has been through this?

Starting Afresh

Yatta~ I'm finally starting again.
I'm thinking of starting an LJ or a Wordpress... But Ive been thinking, if I can't even manage my Frienster's Blog... How the heck am I suppose to manage those cool, hard to manage blogs. So, here I am, trying.
To those reading my blog (if any, i doubt it), sorry for those foreign words. I'm injecting Japanese Vocab into my daily life. Yes, blame the addiction, Arashi. Which I will talk about more later.
Believe me, I Will. heheheheh :D
That's it, I guess.... more focused posts coming up. To those commenting (again, as if), be nice ne?
